Many schools are moving away from the traditional role of a technology teacher, responsible for planning and delivering stand-alone lessons, and moving towards a model of technology integration coaching, where subject and grade level teachers are supported to become self-directed in the ways they use technology to transform student learning.

Workshop details
Who is it for
This workshop is designed for teachers to learn about technology, coaching and adult learning and how these can lead to school-wide change. In many schools, technology integration coaches are seen as leaders, and can contribute to school-wide initiatives and assist teachers in implementing them. Technology integration coaches work with individuals and teams to design and facilitate appropriate learning experiences using technology, and provide feedback and support to teachers.
Coaching differs from many other forms of PD as it is ongoing and brings about the following changes:
Teachers are more reflective about their practice;
Coaching is an effective form of professional learning because implementation of new learning is high;
Coaching leads to greater efficacy among teachers;
Teachers are more satisfied with their work as they benefit both professionally and personally from the coaching.
Workshop goals
Following this workshop, coaches will be able to take on many roles, for example, assisting teachers to examine student projects in order to design instruction and to make curricular decisions; sharing knowledge about the digital tools and resources that are available for teachers and students to use; and working alongside a teacher to model effective teaching and/or observing and giving feedback.

Maggie Hos-McGrane
Director of Coaching Services at Consilience
Maggie Hos-McGrane has been teaching for over 30 years, 25 of these in international schools in Europe and Asia. She is passionate about empowering teachers to use technology to transform learning. Maggie has taught students from age 3 to 18 in the IB PYP, MYP and DP programmes. She is also an IB consultant, IB school visitor and IB workshop leader, facilitating both online, face-to-face regional workshops and in-school workshops. Maggie has presented about technology integration at international conferences including ISTE, Learning2, ECIS, AASSA, and EARCOS, in Asia, Europe, Africa, North and South America. Maggie is a Google Innovator, has published several books about digital citizenship and technology integration, and has been recognized as one of the 365 heroes of education by Anthony Salcito, the Vice-President of Worldwide Education at Microsoft.
Maggie is the Director of Coaching Services at Consilience. She has facilitated coaching training at schools and NGOs throughout Asia. Maggie has also presented about coaching at ISTE, NESA, and the Vietnam Technology Conference. Maggie documents her growth as an educator, coach and leader on her blog, Tech Transformation, which is read by more than one million educators worldwide.
